Smile confidently!

Gummy Smile occurs when people smile, and their upper lip elevates too far above their upper teeth, exposing gums and producing an unattractive smile. One of the causes is hyperactive muscle which elevates the upper lip. According to dentists and cosmetic surgeons, the ‘ideal smile’ sees the upper lip drape over the top of the teeth, with only two millimeters of gum showing.

Fortunately, the “gummy smile” could be corrected safely and effectively with Botox or Dysport injections that reduce the activity of the muscle that elevates the lip. The low dose of Botox is injected into the upper lip “elevator” muscles. It is inhibiting contraction of the upper lip and makes gums less visible. Treatment is quick and inexpensive, results last 3-4 months.  Schedule your free consult today!

ArqueDerma® Artistic Restoration Lift®

ArqueDerma® Artistic Restoration Lift®

“This new technique is revolutionary. The ArqueDerma® technique uses trusted injectable products and orients them in a way that provides much more support for the tissue. It is more effective at eliminating folds and wrinkles than traditional techniques and it rejuvenates the surrounding areas as well. As a plastic surgeon, I have seen many gimmicks promoted in the past, but this technique truly makes a difference.”  ~ Michael Newman, MD Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Torrance, CA

Before-and-after-photos-arquederma-590-web-14Pronounced ‘ARC DERMA,’ the ArqueDerma® Artistic Restoration Lift® is a patented cutting-edge technique developed by Leslie Fletcher, RN, MEP-C, to deliver FDA approved dermal fillers such as Juvederm®, Juvederm Voluma®, Restylane®, and Perlane®. The ArqueDerma® technique corrects volume loss, effectively collects redundant facial volume and allows the practitioner to redirect it into facial hollows, it effectively extends the use of dermal fillers by 40% and stimulates neo-collagenesis to achieve unprecedented, longer lasting results.

Unlike conventional volume replacement techniques, the ArqueDerma® technique utilizes dermal fillers as relocation vectors to redistribute and direct your tissue toward the facial hollows that have formed.  It is more effective at eliminating folds and wrinkles than traditional techniques and it rejuvenates the surrounding areas as well; the controlled trauma, increases a process of collagen producing effects referred to as ‘neocollagenesis’. The procedure moves tissue back where it is supposed to be and provides structural support to the face. The results are beautiful and natural as this method addresses the primary signs of aging by restoring and enhancing the client’s natural features, lifting instead of filling. These results are not possible using the traditional filling techniques.

ArqueDerma® Patient FAQ

Are the products safe? What are the risks?

Licensed ArqueDerma® Practitioners use the FDA market-approved dermal fillers that have gone through the rigorous FDA approval, and have been used every day in clinics throughout the world since 1996. The single, most important difference is in how they are administered. Only Licensed ArqueDerma® Practitioners are licensed to use this revolutionary technique. There are no additional risks when administering Arque Derma® techniques when compared to conventional methods of injecting these dermal fillers.

Can I expect the same results as I would get with facelift surgery? Will I be able to avoid the windblown, pulled back, puffy cheek look that I see so often?

Unlike conventional dermal filler methods that ‘fill up’ areas, the beauty of the ArqueDerma® technique is that it targets the structural support of the face, ‘reaching in’ to bring sunken volume to its original position. We use your own volume, and redirect it, supporting the face structurally (like the frame-work supports a building) ArqueDerma® works at the structural level; providing a result that is more natural than conventional aesthetic procedures and facelifts.

Can ArqueDerma® prevent the signs of aging?  Can I avoid facelift surgery altogether?

After the age of 30 both men and women lose approximately 1% of collagen per year.  The loss of this vital component to a youthful appearance quickly leaves its mark – especially if nothing is done to replace it. Because the ArqueDerma®  technique actually stimulates collagen production, we encourage patients to utilize it as a preventative measure, as well as a targeted, natural looking facelift. We have found that ArqueDerma® has been instrumental in allowing patients to delay surgery for years, and sometimes decades, while others can avoid facelift surgery altogether.

Will it hurt? Will I be swollen? How long will it take?  How much time do I need to allot for avoiding people?

The ArqueDerma® technique is no more uncomfortable than conventional injecting methods. Many patients feel a slight tugging upward during the injection and are actually pleased that they are feeling the ‘lift’ that they so desperately want, so any ‘un-comfortableness’ is considered worth it. Because the technique is dynamic to the tissue, there may be a bit of bruising depending on your body’s response. Yet, this aspect is essential to stimulating collagen production making the technique longer-lasting and sustainable. These possible after-effects can be easily camouflaged with a good concealer. Many patients show little or no such signs and go on about their day as usual. Social downtime: the amount of time that you need to feel comfortable in social situations will depend on your body’s response to the technique, how quickly it heals, and how comfortable you are in social situations using concealer and simple makeup tricks.

How long will the procedure take and How long will the results last?

This depends on the desired goal, how much product is used, and how much time is spent with the practitioner discussing your enhanced ‘look’. If you have not used dermal fillers before, your first session may take more product and time depending on your age, skin damage, and your desired enhancement.

Dermal filler treatments will vary from patient to patient, as well as product to product.  With the ArqueDerma® technique, there is an additional benefit of increased collagen stimulation, which means the results have been shown to last longer than conventional methods of filling.

Will the results be noticeable?

People will notice a more refreshed look, but no one will be able to tell exactly what is different about you! It is the most effective technique to restore a youthful appearance. Because the ArqueDerma® technique is based on restoring the underlying, foundational facial structures, you will look more like you did several years ago.

Using Sculptra for Hand Rejuvenation

Our hands take a beating over the years and, as a result, often give away our age. Skin laxity, volume loss, and sun damage can make the hands appear thin and wrinkled. Did you know that Sculptra injections can help turn back the clock when it comes to the appearance of your hands? It is very common for patients to complain about the aged appearance of their hands and wonder if there is something they could do to improve it. Our bodies lose collagen during the aging process, which causes volume loss, and can lead to the visibility of the veins and bones in the hands. With Sculptra injections, you can fill in lost volume, smoothing out hand wrinkles and giving hands a younger appearance.

Q: How long does Sculptra hand rejuvenation last? A: Sculptra injections produce fairly long lasting results because it stimulates collagen production. Many patients see results that last for up to one year after treatment.

Q: How much downtime is required after hand rejuvenation? A: There is practically no downtime! Most people can return to normal daily activities right after their treatment session.

Q: Is it painful? A:  Surprisingly, NO. Sculptra is mixed with lidocaine and we apply a topical numbing agent to the skin prior to injection to prevent the patient from experiencing discomfort, you won’t feel much past first nick.

Q: Are there side effects to Sculptra? A: All dermal fillers may cause slight bruising, redness, swelling, itching, or tenderness after the injection. In most patients, though, these side effects do not last more than just a few days.
