Fusion Light & Fusion Dark technology by InMode is an advanced laser hair removal system that uses combined wavelengths to provide safe and effective results for a wide range of skin types and hair colors, including light and dark hair. Fusion Light uses shorter wavelengths for lighter skin tones, while Fusion Dark uses longer wavelengths for darker skin and stubborn hair. Both systems incorporate cooling technology for enhanced comfort. The combination of wavelengths and cooling technology allows faster and more precise treatments. It effectively treats a broad spectrum of skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI) and hair textures. Built-in cooling reduces the risk of irritation and enhances the treatment experience, maximizing your comfort.

The Fusion system delivers a blend of wavelengths to target both shallow and deep hair follicles. The laser energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, damaging it to prevent future growth. Both Fusion Light and Fusion Dark utilize a cooling system to keep the skin cool and reduce discomfort during treatment.

Fusion Light is optimized for lighter skin tones and lighter hair colors. It primarily uses the 755nm wavelength for more aggressive and efficient targeting of melanin in fair-skinned patients.

Fusion Dark is optimized for darker skin tones and coarse, stubborn hair. It uses longer wavelengths to target pigment effectively while minimizing risks like hyperpigmentation and burns.

The treatment is a fast, relatively comfortable procedure with minimal downtime, followed by gradual hair reduction over a series of sessions.

What to expect during the treatment:

Customized plan: Your provider will first assess your skin and hair type to confirm that Fusion is the right choice for you.

Preparation: The treatment area will be cleansed, and a cooling gel will be applied to your skin for protection and comfort. You will be given protective eyewear to wear during the session.

The procedure: A handheld device will be moved across the treatment area, emitting pulses of light. Fusion Light’s built-in cooling system keeps the skin comfortable by reducing heat.

Sensation: Most patients describe the feeling as a mild, warm, and quick snapping or tingling sensation.

Session length: Treatments are fast, with smaller areas like the upper lip taking just minutes, while larger areas like the legs or back may take 30–60 minutes.

What to expect after the treatment:

Short-term effects: You may experience mild redness or swelling in the treated area, similar to a sunburn. This usually subsides within a few hours to a few days. You can use a cold pack or apply Aloe Vera to soothe the skin.

Hair shedding: The treated hairs will gradually fall out over the next one to three weeks. Gently exfoliating the skin 5–7 days after the treatment can help speed up the process.

Number of sessions: Optimal results typically require a series of 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to target hair follicles in different growth cycles.

Long-term results: After completing your treatment plan, many clients experience significant and long-lasting hair reduction. Hair regrowth is finer and lighter. Occasional maintenance sessions may be required.
