So what exactly is a Hollywood Facial, the Carbon Peel?

It is one of the newest and latest skin treatments the celebrities love. The treatment combines a cutting edge laser with a carbon mask peel that removes impurities from the skin. It clears the dead skin cells that make your skin look dull leaving you with a natural glow. This treatment is perfect for cleaning and tightening pores, making skin look and feel younger and smoother. It is an exfoliating and resurfacing procedure that helps to improve the appearance of fine wrinkles, pigment, pores, and acne. A black carbon mask is applied first and followed by the Pico Resolve laser, which is used to heat the carbon and help it to penetrate the skin. The Carbon Facial takes 30-40 mins.

What is Melasma?

The “gold standard” Spectra Laser is FDA-approved and extremely effective in reducing the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, brown spots, freckles and deeper pigment such as Melasma on the face.  Unlike all conventional IPL devices, Spectra targets and breaks down the pigment into smaller particles that can be removed naturally by the body. It leaves skin warm, bright and smooth. Treatments typically have minimal to no downtime but may include temporary redness and mild sunburn like effect that can last 2-24 hours post treatment. Pigmented lesions may create prolonged heat, puffiness and a mild crusting depending on treatment level. Pigment changes can occur with the treatment of melasma and areas can darken as the pigment is being targeted by the laser. This darkening to pigmentation is temporary and resolves within 4-6 weeks. Individuals receiving treatment should always wear sun block and avoid sun and heat exposure which can retrigger pigmentation. Each treatment is 30 mins.

How Does Spectra Laser Treatment Work?

It’s a deep form of hyper pigmentation and brown discoloration on facial skin, most commonly appearing on the cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead, chin, and above the upper lip. Hormonal changes along with sun exposure and heat trigger Melasma. Melasma is resistant to most of the IPL treatments.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Removal is based on the principle of selective photo-thermolysis. When the proper laser wavelength is applied to the tattooed area, the ink absorbs the energy from the laser, causing it to break down. Your body’s natural healing processes remove the broken down pigment over time. Multiple sessions are typically required in order to maximize results.

Laser Tattoo Removal With Lutronic Spectra:

Spectra Dual-pulsed laser is considered the gold standard treatment for tattoo removal; it produces very short high energy pulses that break down tattoo ink into minute particles that are more readily absorbed by the body. The Spectra laser is able to treat the widest range of tattoo colors, intensities, and depths. It allows your provider to maximize treatment results while minimizing patient discomfort and recovery time.

How many treatments are required?

The exact number of laser treatments needed varies depending on the size, age, depth, and complexity of the tattoo. The amateur tattoos respond more quickly to treatment than professional tattoos. Fox example, amateur tattoos can be removed in as few as 1 or 2 treatments, while professional tattoos may take 6 – 8 or more treatments to achieve maximum results. Each session is 30-40 mins.
